From the organisers: Let's spend an unforgettable and active day in the marvelous Danube bend with hiking and canoeing.
After picking you up with our van at an agreed point in Budapest, we start our one hour drive to the starting point of our day that is a little romantic town in the Danube bend called Nagymaros.
We climb up to a scenic lookout tower (Julianus-kilátó), where you can admire the stunning panorama to the Danube bend where we will paddle later the day. We search for animal traces, get familiar with the tree species that live on the mountain.
After fulfilling our soul with the the touch of nature and walking 8 km in the calm and green forest we arrive down to the riverside and prepare for our second activity of the day that is canoeing in the Danube river bend.
After a short lesson about safety, technique, rules and ethics on the river we jump into our boats set sail on the beautiful river.
The paddling is easy as we go with the river and the Danube is quite calm and easy river to handle.
During our canoe ride we admire the beautiful mountains around us and we can also see the famous castle of Visegrád from the river.
If the weather is fine, we stop by at a nice, sandy beach (Kisoroszi szigetcsúcs) and have an afternoon pic nick. We finish our day next to a beer or a refreshing soft drink in a hippie bar on the river bank..

Length: the whole trip takes about 8 hours in total, the hike is 8kms with 450m ascent, we cover the waste majority of the ascent during the first half of the hike, so it needs some dedication to manage. The canoe trip is 12 kms and we go with the river so it's pretty easy.

We kindly ask you to send the registration fee within two working days, failing to do so will result in cancellation of your registration.
The price includes:
• Travel from and back to Budapest with our air conditioned van
• Cereal bar and water for the day
• English speaking guide
• Rental fee of the boats and the safety equipment
Equipment needed:
• Food for the day
• Raincoat
• Good mood
Swimming skills are compulsory
The leader of the trip is Gyuri, who is an experienced and certified hiking & tour & river guide.
Please note that the trip will also be held in rainy conditions, but we don’t set sail in heavy wind and storms. We believe that nature keeps you some magic in any conditions.
If it rains we take our raincoats on. The trip will be cancelled only in case of thunderstorms or in case the COVID rules require.
