Art Nouveau Festival, György Ráth Villa Budapest, 6-10 June
With World Art Nouveau Day taking place on 10 June, the Museum of Applied Arts is holding a five-day festival starting on 6 June and held – given the ongoing major renovation of the museum itself – at the historic György Ráth Villa.

In the run-up to the main global celebration, for which a whole day’s events are planned, there’s a series of presentations by experts that should fascinate Hungarian speakers, such as the opening one by the museum’s head restorer György Németh on Italian furniture designer Carlo Bugatti.

Over the course of the day on June 10, the villa hosts a talk on Hungarian tile manufacturers Zsolnay, a yoga session, a workshop and face-painting, among many other things.

Not all are English-friendly but all are free, and offer you the chance to look around this elegant villa owned by the museum’s first director some 150 years ago.
Place: György Ráth Villa Budapest
Address: 1068 Budapest, Városligeti fasor 12
