...but be warned: no one is quite who they appear to be! Arthur the King Part Two - The Round Table is the first project of the Budapest Expatriate Atrium Theatre (BEAT).

English performance with Hungarian surtitles

One medieval day, a young man found a sword in a stone and pulled it out, transforming not only his own fate but that of his whole country. Many years have passed since we last saw him. Much has changed in the meantime: he has grown up and become Arthur the King. Yet he is still young and hot-headed, enjoying his might and power, fighting one war after the next, without a care for the price his nation has to pay.

Our story begins as wise old magician Merlin, assisted by the three witches, decides to open the cocky king's eyes. Thus begins Arthur's journey to become the Once and Future King of Albion and the leader of the Knights of the Round Table. In one of his forests, he encounters Lady Guinevere, and will with time turn a headstrong warrior from France into the famed Sir Lancelot. But these two brave spirits have crossed paths before...

Arthur's attention is distracted by love, intrigue and betrayal, and his resolve is strengthened by the mysterious disappearance of his best friend and mentor, Merlin. All the while, the cunning cat-boiler Queen Morgause is trying to gain influence over Arthur at any price.

This is a story about friendship, forgiveness, and about doing what is Right without always succumbing to the pressure of Might. King Arthur Part Two is a tale about the lasting legacy of the Round Table, the birth of lifelong friendships, and presents a young man's journey to his ultimate status as a legendary king. But be warned: appearances can be deceptive!
