Invitation: Apricot Festival, Boldogkőváralja, 12 - 14 July
From the huge variety of Abaúj region in Northern Hungary apricots are probably the most famous. From all the varieties of apricot grown in the area is Gönci Barack Pálinka made – a spirit with a Protected Designation of Origin, which means that Gönci Barack Pálinka is not only made with local ingredients only, but distillation and bottling also take place in this beautiful area of Hungary.

One of Gönci Barack Pálinka’s most famous manufacturer: BESTILLO has decided to celebrate its famous product with a festival last year. The event turned out to be so successful that its second edition comes bigger this year, entitled 2. GÖNCI BARACK VIGASSÁG and to be held between 12-14 July in BOLDOGKŐVÁRALJA, Hungary.

The festival will take place during apricot harvest which allows the organizers to represent this precious fruit in a huge variety of gastronomy specialties like local cordials, jams, desserts and of course pálinka, while famous restaurants of the region will also present their apricot-themed dishes. Eszter Bodrogi, one of the most famous food bloggers of Hungary will also cook a charity meal on Sunday.

In addition to the culinary delights a diverse program provides entertainment for visitors: apart from artisanal workshops and a market offering local goods only, famous Hungarian musicians as BUDAPEST BÁR and RÚZSA MAGDI will also perform at the Festival.
