Tamás is a horticultural engineer, viticulturist and winemaker. He completed his undergraduate studies in Budapest and Geisenheim, and his master's studies in Montpellier, Bordeaux and Lisbon.

He is dealing with export, dealer relations, red wine blending, and uses its international experience to promote the progress of winemaking.

In addition, he is a judge of several international wine competitions, he is active in the National Wine Expert Committee and a member of the board of the Hungarian Foreign Trade Association.

1. Where did you grow up?

I was born and grew up in Szekszárd.

2. If you could be an expat anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

Definitely Lisbon. I have lived and studied at many places (Geisenheim 1.5 years, Würzburg 1.5 months, Montpellier 1 year, Bordeaux 1 month, Lisbon 2 years).

3. What would you miss most if you moved away from Hungary?

My friends and family.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?

The castle, the New York café, Szimpla bar, Széchenyi bath, the Városliget, Gerbeau, Gundel/Bagolyvár. Taste wines at Divino wine bar and Tasting table.

5. What is your favourite food?

Brazilian picanha.

6. What is your favourite sport / form of exercise?

Road cycling. My father was a professional road cyclist, and two of my brothers when they were even younger started to step in his footsteps.

7. What is your favourite place in Hungary?

In my region Szálka at the lake, near Budapest Szentendre.

8. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?

Being a biologist at the Amazonas basin, that was mine childhood dream.

9. What’s a job you would definitely never want?

Full time office job.

10. Where did you spend your last vacation?

Croatia

11. Where do you hope to spend your next one?

In Brazil, but it will be just partually holiday,  I am going after Christmas to visit friends and meet some wine distributors, and vineyards.

12. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?

Offspring, Star trek (the original series and the movies), repairing, builing electronic diveces, exploring the nature in the backyards and the nearby forests.

13. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?

Picanha, seriously, when I am in Portugal sometimes I eat it twice a day.

14. Red wine or white?

Highly depends on the day, daytime and season and my mood, but I like both of them.

15. Book or movie?

If it's about science fiction, a book.

16. Morning person or night person?

Night person, which is kind of challenging if you work at a winery.

17. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?

Situation of children in war zones.

Szekszárd 

19. Which achievement in your life are you most pleased about?

I studied abroad at four universities (Fachhochschule Geisenheim University, SupAgro Montpellier, ENITA Bordeaux, ISA Lisbon.), I even became Erasmus embassador two years ago.

20. What would you say is your personal motto?

 Don't be shy (that was my motto at the master in France, don't be shy to ask).
