Heléna Béládi, Owner, Mr Görgey Art Hotel @ Pizza, Visegrád
Heléna is rural girl who enjoys living life to the fullest. She loves working, creating, dreaming, and bringing her dreams to life.

Making money and spending it is also a part of her life.

The result of her creation is the beautiful boutique hotel called Mr. Görgey Art Hotel & Bistro, in Visegrád,  designed for all those who love enchanted time-traveling places - though that might be complex, it perfectly reflects her uniqueness.

She emphasizes that throughout her entire life, she strives to find balance and harmony within herself. She says that being born under the sign of Aries with a Leo rising sign poses significant challenges for her, but she embraces it with gratitude.

1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?

I came here from Transylvania in 1989. I was born in a very small town, with only 450 habitants, from near Oradea. So I am a village girl.

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?

I spent six years in Mexico, I got my Interior Design degree there when I was 22-23 years old. Went to Acapulco, since I wanted to work there.

A spoke a little Spanish at that time, so I worked as a waitress on a pirate ship, dressed as a pirate for a little while. I spent approximately two years in Kerala and Goa in India, and I started doing Ayurveda, and also dealt with Ayurvedic medicine.

After that I went to Edinburgh, Scotland, which I loved. I love Scottish people very much, the way the approach life, and how they are just living for that day.  I worked there as an interior designer. I also spent nearly three years in Rome, hence I speak perfect Italian.

3. What would you miss most if you moved away from Hungary?

Since I was ‘on the road’ for so long, I can adapt to every situation without missing anything from home.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?

Visegrád and Mr. Görgey Art Hotel which I manage.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?

I love fish, my favourite is lobster and oysters, I loved having those in Scotland.

6. What is your favourite sport / form of exercise?

Yoga. I do 15 minutes stretching every morning. I also like speed walking. I can do 10 – 15 km. I like doing that in Madeira.

7. What is your favourite place in Hungary?

I like Budapest very much.

8. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?

I have a small house where I have an atelier, so I would love to paint. I like abstracts, I like colours and lots of techniques. I like painting big pieces. First I choose the size, than the colours, than technique, and while listening to the music and having wine, while I am doing my pieces.

9. What’s a job you would definitely never want?

I would not be a hotelier :-)

10.  Where did you spend your last vacation?

In Madeira, since it is close. It is like Columbia or Cuba. I like the nature there, it is fantastic. Fish was also good there, too.

11. Where do you hope to spend your next one?

Visiting my friend in Spain. Although I would love to go to China or Japan since I like big cities very much. I like New York or places where there are a lot of people.

12. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?

George Michael - I found him nice back then.
Basic Instinct with Michael Douglas.
I was collecting old coins. I was also collecting medicinal herbs from the forest so I know a lot of those.

13. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?

White wine, especially a nice fresh Sauvignon Blanc.

14. Red wine or white?

White. I like new Austrian ones. we have 72 different wines at Mr Görgey’s.

15. Book or movie?

Movie, because I am lazy. I love artistic ones, but I am happy with a Turkish one as well. I also watch soap operas :-)

16. Morning person or night person?

I would be a night one, but have to be in the hotel at 7 am in the morning.

17. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?

Old people. They are abandoned, like they are being forgotten about.

18. Buda or Pest side?

Buda, I found it much nicer with lots of history and tradition.

19. Which achievement in your life are you most pleased about?

The Ayurveda centre I created. It was complex, a complicated and sophisticated world. I learnt a different profession. I sold it at the end.

20. What would you say is your personal motto?

Enjoy life in moderation.
