Hungary’s Competition Office (GVH) said it had fined K&H Bank 80 million forints for misleading advertising. GVH levied the fine for a month-long ad campaign of KSH’s “MIX” product early in 2014. KSH advertised a 7.80% annual return on the product – well over the market rate – but failed to make clear that the rate was paid only on the one-third of savings that were placed in a deposit.
Update: New 10 000 Forint Banknote Now In Circulation

The upgraded 10 000 forint banknote came into circulation from 1 December, and is likely to be widely available for everyday use from 2015. Old 10 000 forint notes will remain legal tender until a decision is made by the National Bank on their withdrawal.

Hungary’s advertising market grew just 0.6% to 175.4 billion forints (EUR 560m) last year, data from the Hungarian Advertising Association show.
