Last Saturday evening Team XpatLoop and friends attended the 'Big Budapest Burns' Supper - complete with the “piping in” of authentic haggis. We enjoyed a 'full-Brigadoon' kind of evening - with singing and dancing, poetry and music. A wonderful taste of Scotland in Hungary, and all for charity!

Long-term expat Mr. Douglas Arnott was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the UK’s New Year’s Honours list for 2019, having served as the Chairman of the Robert Burns International Foundation in Hungary for the last five years.

The latest exhibition in the ‘BUD gallery’ series was opened at Ferenc Liszt International Airport, featuring pictures of the airport by Emese Mándi, a young Hungarian photographer. The 24 photos (arranged in pairs) – an artistic presentation of life at the airport – are on display on the arrival level at Budapest Airport.

One of the lovely members of the Thursday night Crowd, Sylvia, was to be united with her sister that she never knew she had until this year, thanks to lots of research by Chris Clarke none the less!!
