Visitor numbers at Hungarian palaces and castles came close to 315,000 last year, a new record, Tamás Glazer, who heads the National Heritage Protection and Development Nonprofit (NOF), told MTI on Friday.

More than 360 of Hungary’s cultural institutions will stay open late and offer special attractions on this year’s Museum Night on June 20th, culture state secretary Péter Hoppál announced. Participating venues include, castles, open air museums, zoos, public baths, botanical gardens, cultural centres and archives.

Fans of J.K. Rowling will remember that a Common Welsh Dragon featured in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’, the fourth book of her immensely popular series. That dragon was green in colour, but the dragon on the flag flying outside the British Embassy today is a vibrant red.
