Budapest taxi drivers demonstrated against ride-hailing service Uber. The drivers blocked traffic in two lanes out of six on Elisabeth Bridge with a demand that Uber be banned and regulations enforced. Over five hundred participants adopted a symbol of their protest, a tree growing out of a clenched fist. The protesters completely blocked traffic in both directions of the two major routes but reopened one lane in each direction after the Budapest police warned them that a complete blockade was illegal.
