It wasn’t dinner as usual in Sushi Sei on Bécsi út in the III District. Rather than the classic sushi affair, the Japanese restaurant in Óbuda had turned into a pop-up dinner dedicated to Japanese-fusion cuisine featuring the talents of two Hungarian chefs Róbert Kemény and Dénes Dlusztus, good friends since chef school, but currently working in London and Bergen, respectively.

Hungarian chef Tamás Széll from Budapest’s Onyx restaurant has won the Hungarian round of the world chef championship Bocuse d’OR and he will represent the country at the European finals on May 10-11, also to be held in Budapest.
Hungary To Request Chimney Cake Receive Traditional Speciality Product Designation

Hungary is expected to submit a request to have chimney cake be designated a traditional speciality product within the European Union at the end of the first quarter of next year, the Ministry of Agriculture’s Deputy State Secretary for Origin Protection announced at a press conference in Budapest on Monday.
