With an estimated 4% increase in turnover this year, the 28,000-tonnes domestic biscuit market has joined the international "biscuit express", with the global biscuit market expanding by about 5% annually, the Association of Hungarian Confectionary Manufacturers says.

Throughout August 2015, illegal migrants at collection points and reception centres were supplied with a total of 661,639 sandwiches, 3,717 kg. of luncheon meat, 18,000 cheese wedges, 18,444 kg. of bread, 22,063 units of canned food, almost 2,000 kg. of apples and bananas and 524,962 bottles of mineral water (0.5l).
