Budapest, western Hungarian spa town Hévíz and eastern Hungarian spa town Hajdúszoboszló are the most popular tourism destinations in the country. Preliminary 2013 figures released by the Central Statistical Office on Thursday show that Budapest had 7.8 million guest nights during the year, 5.4% more than in 2012.

BGYH, the company which runs Budapest’s city-owned thermal baths, has reached a strategic agreement with tourism promotion agency Magyar Turizmus. "Yesterday was a wonderful day, topped off by a Danube dinner cruise for a late birthday present from my friend Margo, joined by Gica and Mark. Guests meet at the Duna Palota on Zrinyi u. at 6:30pm from where the guides take you to the boat. I have never heard of the Duna Palota before, but it appears to be a kind of cultural and concert center.
