Chosen from some 22,000 entries from 73 countries, the 2021 finalists of the Bird Photographer of the Year (BPOTY) competition have been unveiled. Two Hungarians and one Czech are among those competing for the £5,000 cash prize.

Unlike Prague, Budapest is not known for being home to many public parks. So András Györfi took matters in his own hands and created a self-proclaimed Tree Commando to make the Hungarian capital just a little bit greener. Having already planted up to 250 trees personally, András believes that everyone should do their part to help save the environment. He certainly has.

The Hungarian National Museum (MNM) is heading a project to set up an archaeological park and information centre on two sites along the Roman Empire’s border line, the limes, MNM’s deputy head said.
