Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Budapest, Theresa Bubbear, attended the launch of a new sign-language app for mobiles that promises to give deaf people a new perspective on the fine arts.

Following a telephone outage between 4 and 5 April 2013 when the British Embassy was unable to receive telephone calls, we are pleased to announce that this technical issue has now been resolved. Our telephone services are now fully functional, and a full service has been resumed.

Last Sunday saw the start of the 15th Jewish Summer Festival – one of Budapest’s most 'prestigious annual programmes of cultural events'. Every year the festival attracts tens of thousands of local visitors and tourists to the capital and its synagogue, which is said to be one of Europe’s most beautiful. The Hungarian Government has also provided funding for this programme of cultural events.
