Life Sentence For Serial Bank Robber In Hungary
"Zalaegerszeg Court on Tuesday sentenced a man from Sümeg to life imprisonment after convicting him of robbing or attempting to rob seven banks in western Hungary in the summer of 2010.

The 44-year-old László Matolcsi is the first perpetrator of violent crimes in Zala county to be sentenced on the basis of the “three-strikes” principle.

As this was Matolcsi’s third conviction, the judge has no discretion in setting a jail term. Matolcsi will be eligible for parole in 20 years.

He stole a total of Ft 22 million from banks in Somogy, Zala and Vas counties."
