Home Rents Rise Nationwide in Hungary But Fall in Budapest
Residential rental rates were up 0.8% month-on-month nationwide in April but 0.5% lower in Budapest, according to data compiled jointly by the Central Statistics Office and real estate agency ingatlan.com.

Compared to a year earlier, home rent expanded by 12% in Hungary but by only 10% in Budapest.

In real terms, rents were 23% higher in the country compared to the base period of 2015, and up by 17% in Budapest in April.

In Budapest, home rent fees dropped the most in April in areas where they had risen the most a month earlier.

Rates were 1.4% higher in the Buda Hills districts and 1.8% lower in Pest’s inner districts than in the previous month.

The average monthly rent for a home in Budapest in May stands at Ft 270,000.

Rents are in the Ft 240,000-275,000 range in the 11th, 13th and 14th districts, and below Ft 200,000 per month in the 15th, 20th and 21st districts.
