Earthquake Hit Northern Hungary, Felt In Budapest
A minor earthquake occurred near Érsekvadkert, Nógrád county, 58km kilometres north of Budapest at 8.45 p.m. last night. There have been unspecified reports of damage locally. The tremor, measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale, was also felt in downtown Budapest, Vác and Esztergom, as well as in Slovakia.

Water officials said it is not likely that the quake damaged dykes along the Danube.

A tremor measuring 4.5 was recorded in Heves on April 23.
