Hungarian MPs Approve More Spending
MPs yesterday approved the seventh modification of the 2013 budget, increasing the budget deficit target by Ft 171 billion to Ft 1.050 trillion. The bill raises projected budget revenues to Ft 15.325 trillion and total projected spending to Ft 16.376 trillion.

The modification adds Ft 32.5 billion to the wages of 160,000 teachers and gives Ft 71 billion to state energy company MVM to buy the E.ON’s Hungarian gas division.

The change does not alter the EU-standard 2013 budget deficit, the bill said, although the EU has not accepted this position.
