Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) For Special Operations Forces (SOF) In Hungary
In August, a Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) for U.S. and Hungarian special operations forces (SOF) was held at the Táborfalva training range in central Hungary. As the commanders of the two NATO Ally SOF teams stressed, such joint training is essential in ensuring successful cooperation during joint missions in multinational environments. The commander of the American SOF team from Colorado thanked their Hungarian counterparts for the exceptional opportunity to train on the weapons used by their Hungarian counterparts and to share experiences learned in combat.

Col. Tim Manning, head of the Office of Defense Cooperation at U.S. Embassy Budapest, also visited the exercise, which is part of a long-term, successful joint training relationship.

Talking to the Defense Ministry’s media, Colonel Manning emphasized that the exercise was an excellent example of the cooperation that exists between the two nations.

As American and Hungarian soldiers fight shoulder to shoulder in Afghanistan, it is important that they also prepare together for the hardships of the combat zones, he stressed.
