Invitation: Győr Ballet: Breakthrough, Festival Theatre Budapest, 31 Jan
The Glass House: The girl walks down a narrow path, immersed in silent thought, so as not to disturb anyone – not even herself. Society is important to her – it means everything to her. In the eyes of others she is simply beautiful. But does she find herself beautiful? Is she important to herself too? If she carries on swinging her hips only to satisfy others, then she may easily dissolve like a shattered glass. She may fall in a storm of glass shards, sweeping everything from around her, going her own way, wildly and independently. In the end what do we choose? A warm and familiar comfort zone, or the windswept, fresh infinity of individuality? To give way or to break out?

Kodály
“Sándor Márai writes that ‘the body can only tolerate sincerity,’ and this is how it is with my art of dance. In my latest choreographed piece, I don’t merely intend to address the audience with the interplay of bodies and emotions. The act of experiencing things, whether good or bad, of sharing experiences and emotions within a community, is always uplifting. It helps and strengthens, so we can never be left alone. Rejecting indifference, we undertake something bold, get to know ourselves, stick by others, and build something different and new.” (László Velekei)
