Németh said Parliament will pass legislation on the policy of utility price cuts, based on the principle that utility prices must be affordable to Hungarian families, they must not be higher than the EU average, and that Hungarians must have access to a safe and highquality service.

He also said state secretary of the National Development Ministry János Fónagy and his work group are preparing legislation on public utilities, which will stipulate that service providers must spend any profits on improving quality and maintaining safety of operation.
