Zika Virus Has Not Reached Hungary
Hungary’s health authority ÁNTSZ said symptoms of the mosquito-borne Zika virus have not been detected in any patient in Hungary so far. The risk of Zika virus making its way into Hungary is extremely low but cannot be ruled out, it said. The National Epidemiology Centre has received information from international partners that a number of Europeans were infected with the virus on trips to South America or South Asia.

So far two Zika virus cases have been discovered in Germany, six in the Netherlands, one in Finland and one in Denmark.

Five people have been diagnosed with the virus in Britain since December 2014, it said.

ÁNTSZ has advised pregnant women and women of childbearing age who plan to travel to find out whether the region they plan to visit is infected.

Travellers have been advised to consider postponing their trips to regions where the virus is spreading quickly.
