Popular TV2 Host Breaks With Station
TV2 has lost one of its most watched programmes, as Sándor Friderikusz announced on Wednesday that he has severed contacts with the station. A prominent TV personality for over 20 years, Friderikusz’s most recent show “Összezárva” has him spending 24 hours in a home with a guest, monitored by cameras.

Recordings of new segments were to start on the weekend, but Friderikusz said he will not sign another contract with the channel.

In a statement, he said “I apologise to the spectators who liked this programme on behalf of those – as they will not do it – who, again, not for the first time, created a situation at TV2 which no decent and professional programme maker can accept”.

Reporter Gábor Hermann of the “Tények” news programme also resigned on Wednesday.

He joins almost ten other members of the news staff who have quit since new owner Andy Vajna appointed new people to run the news department.
