First Waste Collection Boat In Service
The waste collection ship Tersus, designed to collect refuse from ships on the Danube, has begun operations, it was announced at a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday. Gábor Spányi, chief executive of Mahart PassNave, said the shipping company had spent €200,000 on implementing the project.

The ship also collects refuse from restaurants and bars along the river in an environmentally friendly manner.

Development Ministry state secretary for transport policy László Tasó said Ft 67 billion is available for improving the conditions of shipping on the Hungarian section of the Danube, for instance for upgrading harbours and bridges.
