Budapest Chain Bridge Crossing Ban For Tourist Buses & Trucks In Effect
Since 4 January 2020, vehicles weighing more than five tons are banned from crossing the Széchenyi Chain Bridge until after bridge renovation.

Only BKK’s public transport services are allowed, so are bicycles, cars, vans and minivans.

The structure of the bridge is under constant daily monitoring by the operator.

The operator of the bridge, the Budapest Közút company, continuously checks the condition of the bridge according to the prescribed control schedule.

The recently completed status report established that weight limitations for the bridge must be stricter than the current level.
