As we all know, Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate with your significant other, perhaps a time to revisit memorable places and enjoy a romantic dinner. It has only been celebrated in Hungary since 1990 however, and the equivalent of Valentine here is the name Bálint, whose name day falls on 14 February.

It can be interpreted on the personal level (self-care) or projected onto relationships between people (maternal or parental care, elderly care), but can also be extended to caring for nonhumans and, in a broader sense, for the Earth itself.

On display until 18 February 2024. The Museum of Ethnography in Budapest opened this exhibition from the Seoul Museum of History explores the history and modern daily life of the South Korean capital looking at the changes in dress and housing culture, among other things.
