Retail Sales Growth Accelerates To 6% In May

Retail sales in Hungary climbed an annual 6% in May, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading of data. Retail sales rose by 5.5% when adjusted for calendar year effects. The pace of retail sales growth accelerated from an unadjusted and adjusted 3.2% and 1.8%, respectively, in April. Retail sales growth in May was highest since June 2016.

Bence Tordai cited defence ministry contracts showing that in 2013 and 2014 the company bought 1,357 air launched rockets, 83 nose guns and 52 airborne rockets from the Hungarian army for 7.5 million forints (EUR 24,000).
