The economy ministry said it maintained last year’s projection of 4.1 percent GDP growth in 2017 and a 4.3 percent increase in 2018, in a statement on its macroeconomic and budgetary forecast for 2017-2021. The growth rate is seen slowing to 3.8 percent in 2019 and reaching 3.6 percent in 2021, according to the forecast.

The IMF’s regional economic outlook report for Europe November issue said domestic demand was likely to expand by 2.7%, while gross investment as a share of GDP could reach 20.9%. It forecast annual inflation at 3% and unemployment at 4.3%.

German companies operating in Hungary continue to feel satisfied and optimistic about their business, a recent survey by the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK) shows. In almost all answers, managers were even more optimistic than the already very good results of the chamberʼs survey published in April.
