"Budapest Airport welcomed its first Middle Eastern scheduled carrier this week when Qatar Airways, flight number QR943, touched down Monday (17 January) at 13.45.

Mr Melles has been the Country Manager in Hungary for Air France KLM since August 2009. Originally from Székesfehérvár, he was born on 5 January, and attended the Teleki Blanka Gimnazium until 1998. He went on to read Business Studies at the International Business School in Budapest. He then starting his fast-track career with Nestle in the summer of 2002.

Based on information provided by the National Meteorology Service (OMSZ), air traffic control agency Hungarocontrol re-introduced restrictions in Hungarian airspace at dawn due to volcanic ash drifting over the country from an Icelandic eruption.
