On Sunday 31 January, Müpa and the Budapest Festival Orchestra will be presenting their ninth music Marathon; the concerts start early and will fill Müpa’s concert halls non-stop into the evening. Until I came to this sensational exhibition at the Ludwig Museum I didn’t know I liked Pop Art. Basically I only knew Warhol’s Campbell Soup and Lichtenstein’s comic strips which are here as well, but I was unprepared for the arresting impact of this huge collection of art works whose artistic quality, it seems to me, outweighs what they call in marketing meetings here the “Vow Effect”.
Hungary Has Taken Over Airspace Defence Of Baltic Countries

Hungary will be in charge of the protection of the airspace of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania for a period of four months as of 1 September as part of NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission. At the official rotation ceremony, which was attended by Defence Minister Csaba Hende, Hungary took over the mission at the Siauliai Air Base in Lithuania from Norway and Italy.
