DIVA, a large-scale exhibition from London’s Victoria&Albert Museum showcasing costumes and the life of iconic performers will be on display in in the House of Music Hungary in Budapest on its first journey abroad from May 18, the organisers said.

The Budapest Dance Festival is hosting international stars again this year. The two-week festival at the National Dance Theatre will bring together the best of international and national contemporary dance. The most exciting productions from Cuba, Italy and Finland and premieres by the best-known Hungarian dance companies will offer an unmissable programme between 27 April and 11 May.

Following Salzburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Paris, Claus Guth's critically acclaimed 2008 adaptation of Don Giovanni is being presented at the National Opera House in Hungary. The title role of this provocative, youthful production is performed by Gábor Bretz and Károly Szemerédy, the ensembles of the Hungarian State Opera are conducted by principal conductor Martin Rajna.
