The Budapest assembly on Wednesday approved the final proposal on locations selected under the Hungarian capital’s bid to host the 2024 Olympics. Budapest’s mayor, István Tarlós, has failed to discuss proposals concerning renovating the third metro line or handling the capital’s current smog problem, a Socialist representative said. “Pig run” is not an age-old Hungarian tradition, but a Facebook event spreading rapidly. Imre, the main organizer ran a pig-shaped lap alone in January, 2015. Now he also wants companions in the New Year. Thus the idea of the "pig run" was born. The 4,5 km-long jogging will start at Népliget at 10 am on Sunday 8 January 2017. Meeting time between 9:30 - 9.45.

Hungary has won the right to organise the kickboxing world championships in 2017. The Hungarian kickboxing association said the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) award the right to hold the next world championships to Hungary during its meeting in Maribor. Hungary has so far hosted the world kickboxing championships twice: in Budapest in 1985 and in Szeged in 2005.
