Several Hungarian towns and cities are plagued by poor air quality. In Budapest, Esztergom, Eger, Debrecen, Miskolc and Oszlár concentrations of particulate matter in the air exceed what is considered to be a safe level, the National Centre for Public Health (OKK) said on Sunday.

The Tanítanék (I want to teach) movement began a demonstration in Budapest on Saturday afternoon. The organisers of the movement expressed their anger in an invitation to the demonstration on Facebook over what they see as the government “totally nationalising schools and destroying education”. The demonstrators will “grade” their own performance as well as the government’s, the movement added.
