A new pay-by-phone parking system was introduced throughout Hungary on July 1. The system is operated as a state monopoly by Nemzeti Mobilfizetési Zrt. The motion was submitted by two deputy mayors who are also MPs, of whom Gábor Bagdy abstained from voting while István György voted against his own proposal. It was soundly rejected by 305 votes to 14.
