A record number of 50 heart transplants have been carried out at the Budapest Semmelweis University’s Vascular Surgery Department this year, the clinic said. Doctors will get full access to a patient’s entire health records in line with amended legislation submitted to parliament, daily Népszabadság said. Unless a patient sends a written statement to the health insurance authority to bar access to his or her records, doctors will be able to search freely in their personal database, the paper said.
