I thought that I had finished with it really, 50 years old and having played for nigh on 25 years, with parts of the body creaking when they didn’t used to…… and the cricket bag didn’t make it over from the UK when I came here in July 2011 - I suppose I had just about ...

So here we came – a Hungarian family and friends – supporting someone special at the XXX. London Summer Olympic Games Modern Pentathlon event. That morning we hit the road as early as 06.00 as our hotel was around South Croydon and we had to get to Stratford by 7.30 for the first event held in the Olympic Park. With the Summer Olympics in London almost upon us, I have been trying to remember anything from past events. I would like to think that the first Olympics I remember was 1972 when swimmer Mark Spitz won 7 gold medals. However, I am probably confabulating this since I was about 5 years old and do not remember anything about the tragedy in Munich. Olga Korbut, who my dad had a massive crush on, ...

When was the last time you heard that or thought it yourself? I hear it very often these days, I train regularly and eat right and still think this! I believe it has been instilled into our minds throughout time that summer means getting slimmer and in shape. Whatever the reason is, it is always good to take a step back and evaluate if you possibly could shed a few Kilos, no matter what the ...
Xpat Opinion: By Treehugger Dan: Balaton Swim 2012

After doing my first Balaton Swim with Kevin Jackson 3 years ago for charity (raising money for the Hungarian Fair Trade Campaign), I have impatiently been waiting to do a second. Two years ago, after many weather postponements, the event was cancelled. Last year I had to pull out with 3 slipped disks. In what must be a first, the event this year went off without a hitch the first try, thus ...
