Head Doctor & Pharma Official Accused of Taking Bribes in NE Hungary
Charges have been pressed against a former head of a ward of the Nyíregyháza hospital and an official of a pharmaceutics distribution company on suspicion of bribery, Szabolcs county Police announced.

Police said the 54-year-old doctor received several million forints for prescribing medicines distributed by the company represented by the official.

The doctor and the representative co-operated in bank transactions and in preparing the necessary documentation.

Szabolcs county detectives detained and questioned the two suspects on January 15.

Police impounded the documents and electronic data related to the criminal acts.

The suspects are free to defend themselves.

Police said the number of suspects is expected to rise as the investigation continues.
