In an interview published in Heti Válasz, former president László Sólyom repeated his earlier criticism, that the government’s “military-style tactics” lead nowhere, and are harmful to democracy. In response, Minister of Public Administration and Justice Tibor Navracsics said Sólyom cannot see the wood for the trees.

Hajdunanas has become the third town in Hungary to launch its own local currency, the Bocskai korona, similar to Sopron franc and the Balaton korona. Legally the currency is a voucher offering discounts at local shops. So far 20 shops in Hajdunanas are participating.

Two German small planes violated Hungary’s air space from the direction of Austria Saturday morning, the Defence Ministry reported. Before the planes entered Hungarian airspace, the Hungarian authorities, the Austrian authorities and NATO headquarters in Italy attempted to identify them.
