Europe’s biggest Buddhist meditation centre was inaugurated in Zalaszántó, near Lake Balaton, on Saturday. More than 500 Hungarians and foreigners participated at the event. The 400-square-metre centre was built with donations from a Vietnamese family living in Hungary.

Deputy State Secretary for Tourism Dr Viktória Horváth held a presentation at a professional conference on the key development priorities of Hungarian health tourism and the National Tourism Development Concept (2012-2024) which is currently under social consultation. The Government plans to increase by 2024 the share of the tourism sector within Hungary’s GDP to as much as 10 percent.

Serbian and Ukrainian nationals reportedly from the world of international organised crime were also given medical treatment at the Budapest hospital.
