Half of Hungarian consumers have experienced discrepancies in the quality of identically-branded food products sold in Western Europe and Hungary, a recent survey shows. Most of the discrepancies were found in confectionery products, dairy products and soft drinks, according to the survey conducted by the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) released by the farm ministry.

The list of banned psychoactive drugs has been expanded with a 13 new items. Electronic cigarettes were grouped under ordinary cigarette regulations. As a result only licensed tobacco shops, the so-called kiosks, may sell them in the future. The law on air traffic was also modified authorising the police to levy fines for the illegal use of drones.

The opposition Socialist Party will on Monday submit a proposal to parliament aimed at ensuring that people who work on Sundays receive at least a 100% bonus rate on supplementary pay, the party’s lawmakers said. Earlier this week, parliament voted to repeal the law prohibiting retailers over 200sqm from opening on Sundays.
