The Debrecen Court of Appeals on Monday upheld a Miskolc Court’s conviction of three police officers of forceful interrogation and other crimes in 2009. Two of the three police officers in Mezõkövesd, Borsod county were given suspended 16-month prison terms, while the third was fined Ft 375,000 for forgery of public documents.

"A total of five people died of exposure in the heavy snow and unusually cold weather that enveloped Hungary over the weekend. A man who fell to the ground in the courtyard of his house in Mezőkövesd on Friday, was unable to get up and died of exposure in the –15C temperature.
