Hungary’s Kelemen Quartet has won Italy’s Premio Paolo Borciani international String Quartet Competition that ended at the weekend, Barnabás Kelemen told MTI. The quartet fetched first prize ahead of nine other ensembles in what is among the world’s most prestigious competitions.

The Hungarian State Opera House will host a tribute concert to celebrate the birth centenary of world-renowned Hungarian pianist Annie Fischer on April 14. Pianists Jenő Jandó, Tamás Vásáry, Ilona Prúnyi and Katalin Falvai will play solos accompanied by the Solti Chamber Orchestra to commemorate the artist, who died in 1995, Vásáry told a press conference in Budapest.
