Budapest’s Museum of Fine Arts, which is currently closed for renovation, will temporarily open its reconstructed Romanesque Hall to the public, the human resources minister told a press conference.

A Pork Show take place in front of Bálna on the 25th and 26th of January. Over these two days, about 30 pigs from Fegyvernek that weight 150-160 kilograms will be processed. Teams can compete to make the finest sausage, while visitors get to know the steps of the process from professionals.

A festival showing a cross-section of films from the Visegrad countries will be held in the Budapest Uránia cinema between February 14 and 17, the cinema said on Tuesday.

Entry is free, so if you fancy a taste of a pig that came close to extinction just a few decades ago, pop along to Szabadság Tér for a bite of magnificent mangalica meat - said to be tastier and healthier than regular pork. As you may know, this festival is named after a delicious furry pig that's indigenous to Hungary, this year the event is held again in downtown Budapest between 9 - 11 January.
