Art historian Mária Illyés, daughter of the late Gyula Illyés, has found a hitherto unknown novel by the writer when arranging his manuscripts. The handwritten text could have been written by her father between 1949 and 1956, Illyés said on Tuesday. The celebrations will begin on August 19 when the 'Street of Hungarian Flavours' will open at noon between the Buda side of the Erzsébet híd and Bem tér. Awards will be presented for Hungary’s best cake, sugar-free cake and ice cream. Pop music will play on Clark Ádám tér and on Bem tér from 8pm. The Gyula local council has won Ft 1.995 billion in non-refundable EU funding from the New Széchenyi Plan for renovating the Harruckern-Wenckheim-Almásy castle, Fidesz mayor Ernő Gergényi told reporters in Gyula, south-east Hungary on Monday.
