DJ Bootsie is an active mover and shaper on the Hungarian hip-hop scene. While the beat of urban hip-hop provides the framework for his music, he also draws greatly on Hungarian culture. His predominantly instrumental, epically structured music is greatly influenced by electronic music, jazz, contemporary and folk music with a strong emphasis on movie soundtracks.

In the 80s, Parov founded popular formations, including Zsarátnok and Barbaro and this made him one of the focal figures of Hungarian ethno-rock.
